Monika Filz studierte von 1987 – 1992 Foto-Design mit den Schwerpunkten Bildjournalismus und Fine Arts an der FH Dortmund (Dozenten: Gisela Scheidler, Joachim Brohm, André Gelpke und Cindy Gates).

Sie absolvierte ihr Redaktionspraktikum in der Lokalredaktion Dortmund der WAZ, ist seit 2005 für die tageszeitung in Berlin im Einsatz und veröffentlicht in vielen weiteren Printmedien.

Seit 1992 lebt und arbeitet sie in Berlin und stellt ihre Arbeiten im In- und Ausland aus (www.monafilz.de).

Von 1994 – 2005 war sie Media Manager bei einem Independent-Filmverleih und kooperierte mit allen Medien.

Monika Filz studied from 1987 – 1992 photo-design with a focus on journalism and fine arts at FH Dortmund (lecturers: Gisela Scheidler, Joachim Brohm, André Gelpke und Cindy Gates).

First experience als photo-reporter she gained at the local editorial staff at WAZ, Dortmund. Now she is in action for die tageszeitung, Berlin, and distributes her images via various agencies.
